Born and raised in Athens, Alabama, Charles “Dewayne” Raney brings deep local roots and nearly a decade of legal experience to his practice. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Alabama in 2013. He went on to attend the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, where he received both his Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution in 2016. During law school, Dewayne was an active member of Phi Alpha Delta and was recognized on the Dean’s List multiple times for his academic achievement.

After completing his legal education, Dewayne returned to North Alabama and has been practicing law for the past nine years. His practice focuses on probate matters, estate planning, trusts, and real property actions—including sale-for-division proceedings—along with a variety of other civil matters. He is committed to providing clear, practical guidance and dedicated advocacy for individuals and families navigating complex legal issues.

Outside the office, Dewayne enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Courtney, and their four cats—Dante, Vergil, Archer, and Sabre—who keep life lively and entertaining. A passionate traveler, he and Courtney frequently explore new cities across the country, often planning trips around major professional wrestling events. Dewayne is also an enthusiastic fan of gaming, storytelling, and pop-culture media, interests that help him unwind and fuel his appreciation for creativity. Whether discovering new restaurants, seeking out unique local experiences, or planning their next wrestling-themed adventure, Dewayne values time spent recharging with family and friends.
